The Tour

Christchurch Gardens
Public gardens at the top of the Parade, recently re-vamped.
Garway Close
A local residents’ initiative to look after a small area of woodland on their road.
Binswood Butterfly Sanctuary
An otherwise unusable plot on the Binswood Allotments turned into a butterfly sanctuary for the benefit of the public in general and particularly for local schools.
Strathearn Gardens and the Dell
Strathearn Gardens have recently been refurbished. We shall walk through the Gardens and then to the Dell a bit further on where we shall meet the GALS (“Gardening Around Leamington Spa”), a group of volunteer “guerrilla gardeners”.
Foundry Wood
An old and neglected industrial site, now reclaimed as a nature reserve and outdoor educational facility.
Railway Station Gardens
Terraced gardens worked by volunteers from the Friends of Leamington Station.
Kingsway School
We shall see their new “mud kitchen”, their impressive wooden raised beds and their wild flower meadow with its new pond and viewing platforms.
Eagle Rec
A recreation ground beside a railway embankment and abutting the canal in the south of the town. Once in a poor state, but now much revived by the Friends of the Eagle Rec.
Jephson Gardens
World famous gardens with much to see, including the Chelsea Flower Show exhibit now set up at East Lodge and the new Sensory Garden.
